dear spokane,

a few months ago when you stole one of our favorite families from us i vowed that we should and would move to spokane. christian was wary, in his crazy lawyer speak he demanded adequate evidence as to such a move. obviously i said spokane has big sky like my arizona sky. this only made him think he had won the debate. christian doesn’t understand big sky, so i try and point it out to him whenever i can. he countered with the fact that it snows even more in spokane and that pretty much burst my bubble. i still reminded him if we lived in spokane he’d have even more opportunities to enjoy dinner/fhe* combos.

well a few weeks ago two bands managed to get their schedule in sync and we were off to spokane. we listened to great music, enjoyed amazing hospitality (a la casa de los parents) realized that kids keep growing (quickly!) and even if those kids loved your storytelling abilities, 3 months with no contact is just too long and they’ve forgotten you, just like that. we also learned that robin isn’t very good at priming walls, christian really likes electric blankets and that the ditto family picked a perfectly cute home and neighborhood. they even have their very own delicious sandwich/ice cream shop up the street. scoop we love you!

it’s decided. spokane, we just might have to return for coconut chocolate & cookie batter/cookie dough ice cream!! oh, and to see the dittos.

k.i.t.,

robin

*FHE or family home evening is
a special time set aside each week that brings family members together and strengthens their love for each other, helps them draw closer to heavenly father, and encourages them to live righteously. it is traditionally held on monday nights. obviously christian and i have a 100% fhe record. i mean, we are together every monday night and we do things that bring us together… on the couch… like watch movies on our dvr…

  1. >i didn’t understand big sky at all until we moved to kansas. i’m still amazed by it. the sky is so much prettier and much more interesting here than in california. michelle is in complete denial, of course.

  2. >Okay, so this has nothing to do with your post, but I went the article you referenced on google, because I am cupcake-aholic and was delighted to find that Cake Love cupcakes are overrated. In all the time we have been in DC I have meant to try their cupcakes and never managed to – now I don’t have to – so thank you for directing me to this article. I am looking forward to the next 5 installments and taking notes.
