husband, come home please.

in my previous life the weeks leading up to and encompassing november were hectic. in my current life november still ushers in hype and bustle, but with rock music.

i have been anxiously awaiting tuesday. tuesday, october 28th specifically. between our jetsetting separately to california and maryland i have been missing him. even though we’ve been married almost 22 months. even though we’ve been apart before. this time… is different.

i have been thinking about the poem on our wedding announcement:

don’t go far off, not even for a day, because —
because — I don’t know how to say it: a day is long
and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station
when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep.
pablo neruda

a day is long.

tomorrow i will be running some errands for work and then swinging by the airport.

I will be picking up several gala items tomorrow morning in Seattle and then picking up my husband (not a gala item) at the airport. I will hopefully be in by 12:30ish.

  1. >Random note: I was perusing (okay, I check it every day) and was watching Hilary Duff’s new music video, “Reach out”– it’s freaky, if she had red hair, you guys could be twins, or at least sisters. In fact, someone should start calling you Duff, not me though, cause that would be weird.
